The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) is a 3,000-mile (4,800 km) inland waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of the United States. It begins at the Annisquam River in Massachusetts and heads south, following the Atlantic Seaboard and winding around Florida to end at Brownsville, Texas on the Gulf Coast. Bordered by the beautiful cities of Sarasota and Venice, Nokomis is justifiably known for its beautiful seashore. There are many shopping opportunities and cultivated residential areas. The unincorporated town includes Nokomis Beach, at the south end of exclusive Casey Key.
