Mayville is a nice town with rolling hills surrounding. This rural country side is decorated with rich history. Mayville Lakeside Park is also home to the annual Winter Festival and Ice Castle held every President’s Day weekend and also the annual 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks. Chautauqua Lake is known for its muskellunge fishing and sailing. The most desired boating locations are “Sandy Bottoms” (aka “The Sand Bar”) in the northernmost part of the lake, and “Party Bay,” located to the east/southeast of Long Point State Park, near Maple Springs.
