Manzanita Lake sits at an elevation of 5,846 feet at the base of Chaos Crags, near the NW entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Manzanita Lake offers outdoor activities year-round, for quiet water pursuits, non-motorized boating, fishing, and swimming in the summer. It’s the most popular fishing lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park and is excellent for both rod and reel and fly fishing. The lake holds a fair number of rainbow and brown trout. It is rated as a blue-ribbon fly fishery by the state of California Department of Fish and Game.
