Mid-Atlantic Snowstorm
Please enjoy this live cam of the Maryland Snow Storm. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for portions of north central and western Maryland, including the area near Cumberland, MD. The warning will remain in effect until 7 PM EST. During this event, heavy mixed precipitation was expected, with total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches and possible ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.
Impacts in the region included slippery road conditions and potential travel hazards. In the warning, residents were advised to carry essentials like an extra flashlight, food, and water in their vehicles in case of emergency, as well as to be cautious of icy surfaces on steps, sidewalks, and driveways. Snowfall rates could potentially reach 1 to 2 inches per hour, with the wintry mix continuing throughout the day of the alert. The precipitation was expected to end during the evening.
