Leech Lake is well known among Minnesota anglers for its walleye, northern pike, jumbo perch and muskellunge fishing. Leech Lake also provides quality angling opportunities for largemouth bass, black crappie, and sunfish in several shallow vegetated bays. The lake was crowned the “Muskie Capital of the World” after the famous muskie rampage during a hot spell in July 1955.
