SICSA: Creating a Humane Community for 50 Years

Real-Time Glimpses with the SICSA Webcam

The SICSA Webcam offers a live look inside the day-to-day life of the animals waiting for their forever homes. Viewers can watch playful cats, curious dogs, and see how staff and volunteers care for them. It gives a transparent and heartwarming glimpse into the shelter’s mission. You can feel the love and dedication in every frame.

The Mission

Back in 1974, a group of passionate animal advocates came together to start something new. They wanted a better way to care for stray and homeless animals in the Miami Valley. This vision gave birth to the Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals—known today as SICSA. From the beginning, SICSA aimed to provide a compassionate, community-driven alternative to traditional shelters.

A Legacy of Caring in the Miami Valley

For five decades, residents of the Miami Valley have stood by SICSA’s side. This lasting support helped create the SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center. Together, the organization and the community have built a more humane, animal-friendly region. The journey has been full of love, learning, and lifesaving efforts.

Modern Facility

In 2020, SICSA moved into a new home designed to meet the needs of today’s animals and adopters. Located at 8172 Washington Church Road in Dayton, Ohio, the updated center is a game-changer. It includes a high-tech Veterinary Clinic to treat pets quickly and effectively. There’s a Temporary Care Wing for animals in transition and multiple outdoor Play Yards where dogs can run and play. This space reflects SICSA’s growth and its continued dedication to animal welfare.
