Old Faithful is the most famous, though not the highest, of all North American geysers. It erupts nearly every 91 minutes. Water at the vent has been measured as high as 203 degrees Fahrenheit. The steam at the geyser’s vent has been measured significantly higher at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Old Faithful erupts more frequently than any of the other big geysers, although it is not the largest or most regular geyser in Yellowstone National Park. It is believed this regularity is in part due to no known connection with other hydrothermal features in the area.
