Watch the Pond Live Webcam at Millbrook School

The Trevor-Lovejoy Zoo at Millbrook School now features a live webcam that offers viewers a unique glimpse into the vibrant ecosystem surrounding its pond. This initiative allows wildlife enthusiasts and students alike to observe various species, from playful ducks to diverse plant life, in their natural habitat. The camera runs throughout the day, capturing real-time interactions and fostering an appreciation for nature.

Today the Trevor Zoo is an integral part of the school and has grown so that it accommodates more than 180 exotic and indigenous animals, including eight endangered species, within facilities that extend over six acres and include a veterinary clinic. In 1989, the zoo was accredited by the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums)

These creatures are known for their hard shells and slow movements. This also makes them a favorite for those who enjoy observing nature. Additionally, frogs can be spotted hopping around the edges of the pond, with their vibrant colors and unique croaking sounds adding charm to the environment.

Birdlife is also abundant around the pond at the Trevor-Lovejoy Zoo. Ducks frequently paddle across the water, showcasing their graceful swimming skills. These ducks often engage in playful behavior, quacking and interacting with each other. Besides ducks, herons can occasionally be seen standing still near the water, patiently waiting for fish to swim by. Their tall, slender bodies make them easy to spot.

Aquatic life thrives in the pond as well, with fish swimming beneath the surface. Smaller fish dart in and out of the plants, while larger ones glide slowly by. The clear water allows for easy viewing. Thus, making it a great spot for children and families who visit. Additionally, insects like dragonflies and butterflies’ flit around the pond. Furthermore, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere.
