The Wilmington cam is located atop the Hilton Wilmington Riverside hotel in downtown Wilmington. It provides views of the Cape Fear River and Memorial Bridge, the battleship USS North Carolina, and downtown Wilmington, including the historic Riverfront. The Cape Fear River is the only river in North Carolina that supported inland commercial navigation. There are three navigation locks operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It was built to facilitate commercial barge traffic on the river up to Fayetteville.
