Bay Lake is a body of water located in the Brainerd Lakes region of Minnesota. It is located northwest of the Mille Lacs Lake Chain and also home to several premiere resorts including Ruttgers and Woodland. Bay Lake is located three miles northwest of Garrison, Minnesota, in Crow Wing County. It covers 2,319 acres, which places it in the upper 5% of lakes in Minnesota in terms of size. Walleyes are most at home in the large, clear, cool lakes of Minnesota’s northern forests.

Minnesota Highway 6 and Minnesota Highway 18 are two of the main arterial routes in the township. In addition to Bay Lake, the township encompasses many smaller lakes. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.3 square miles, of which 27.0 square miles of it is land and 9.2 square miles of it (25.48%) is water. Popular resorts include Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge, Zippel Bay Lake of the Woods, and Bluefin Bay.
